Our story

« The right material, at the right place, with the right process. »

Our objectives and visions

Founded in 2004 by vision and passion, the company revolutionized the composite materials industry guided by one motto : “the right material, at the right place, with the right process”. Pioneering efforts, strategic investments, key partnerships, and continuous innovation have defined our journey. Recognitions attest to our commitment to excellence as we look towards the future, determined to continue the innovation journey.

Gerard’s vision was to create Thin Ply Technology, with a specific focus on creating stable and rigid boat sails, aiming to significantly enhance their performance. This ambitious vision sparked advancements in key areas such as chemistry, fiber spreading, software development, molding, and ATL technology.

The initial objective of this journey was to develop cutting-edge sail technology. This project was successfully completed with America’s cup win, and transferred to the North Sails Group. The adaptation of this knowledge gained on flexible material to rigid materials marked the beginning of NTPT (as we know it today).
